At just 14 years old, Militis made his international debut at the World International School Games in Serbia, where he secured a stunning silver medal while representing Team England.
Despite racing a year young, the Les Quennevais School pupil was part of a hugely successful England team.
The teenage star was also handed the prestigious honour of being Team England’s flag bearer for the opening ceremony.
The highlight of the tournament for Militis was undoubtedly the superb silver medal picked up in Men’s 200m Backstroke.
Having dropped a four-second personal best time in the heats, Militis knocked an incredible two seconds off again in the final to land himself on the podium, just narrowly missing out on gold by less than half a second.
This was his last swim of the championships, which had already been successful to this point.
The teenager also recorded a lifetime best time in the 200m Freestyle event to come 15th, a personal best in the 800m Free to place 14th and a huge personal best in the 100m Free to finish in the top 12.
Following what was a breakout season last year, it was a great step up for the young man, who can now look towards the final parts of this season with the British and English Summer Nationals.
Calligo Tigers coach Nathan Jegou was full of praise for his young superstar, saying: “We as a club are super happy for Jack.
“To go away on your first international trip and perform so well individually and for the team is great, and the medal is the icing on the cake for him.
“He was swimming in a dual age band as it was a school-age event, so that exposure to racing older athletes is fantastic for his development.
“We look forward to seeing him and the rest of his team mates go well on the National circuit for the rest of the season.”
The Militis family thanked RSM Channel Islands for their support in helping Jack get to the Games.
