JERSEY RFC have now won their first four games of the 2023/2024 Regional 2 South Central division after beating Farnham RFC in a tightly contested 38-33 win.

The team suffered a number of injuries in the first-half but were able to emerge victorious after a particularly well fought end to the first 40 minutes and an even stronger effort in the second half, coming from 13 points behind on away at Farnham on Saturday.

Stand out performances came from back-row forward George Willmott, who scored two tries, and fly-half Aaron Penberthy who made all of his conversions and scored a brilliant penalty kick from the halfway line.

Both teams tried to play their own game but it was Jersey who really stamped their authority when things got tough. Their scrums were decisive and defence was in the most part solid, only allowing Farnham to capitalise on a couple of missed tackles in the backfield.
