ST Peter proved they will be a force to be reckoned with this season as they put 17 goals past St Lawrence in the Francis Bingham Charity Cup.
Mark Logue opening the scoring with a penalty before teenager Seaney McColgan doubled the Keys’ lead.
Harrison Moon scored his first for the club a few minutes later before McColgan’s strike from 20 yards made it four.
Moon and Logue each scored their second before Arthur Illingworth made it 7-0 to St Peter. There was still time in the first-half for Moon to complete his hat-trick as the Keys went in at the break 8-0 to the good.
Any hopes St Lawrence had that their opponents might have taken their foot off the gas in the second-half was quickly dispelled when Illingworth netted his second and McColgan grabbed his hat-trick.
Logue and Illingworth both completed their hat-tricks – the third and fourth of the night for St Peter – while McColgan scored four more times, taking his tally for the night to seven, and Harry Scott scored to complete the route.
St Peter face Sporting Academics on Saturday to conclude their group stage.
St Clement also saw success in their first cup match on Tuesday evening, with a not-quite-as-cold-blooded conquering of Rozel Rovers. St Clement ran out 4-1 victors with goals from Jay Dos Santos and Charlie Batty alongside a Rai Dos Santos double securing the win. Rozel’s only reprieve coming from a Thomas Harris own goal.
