JERSEY completed a Muratti double over rivals Guernsey winning both the men’s and women’s matches at Footes Lane on Saturday.
A brace from Eve Watson and goals from Ella Docherty and Hannah Campbell saw Jersey coast past their Sarnian rivals 4-1 in the Women’s Muratti in Saturday’s early kick-off.
In the Men’s Muratti, Jersey were forced to come from behind after Will Fazakerly gave Guernsey a first-half lead. A brace from defender Luke Campbell – the first from the penalty spot – saw Jersey lift the trophy.
The win gave departing men’s team manager Martin Cassidy his fifth Muratti title in six attempts.
The Muratti double comes off the back of the Island’s rugby players claiming a ‘Siam Slam’ over Guernsey last week by winning the Siam Cup, the Women’s Siam, the veterans’ Nash Cup and the 2nd XV Fallaize Cup.
