A robot basketball player is taking the internet by storm after video of it sinking a three-pointer was posted online.

CUE3 appeared at an Alvark Tokyo game to entertain the crowd with its unerring shooting ability.

And the machine did not disappoint, draining the three-pointer from close to half-court distance to cheers from the crowd.

CUE3, developed by Alvark sponsors Toyota, has been seen showing off its sporting abilities before.

Last year it defeated two of Alvark’s human players in a shooting contest.
