Guthrie: ‘England must challenge more’

The Roses threw away a four-goal lead in the first round of their three-match Vitality International Netball Series, with six-feet six-inch Jamaican goal-shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid being named player of the match following a near-unstoppable display at the Copper Box Arena in London. The Sunshine Girls won 66-49.

‘It was disappointing on our part with the errors that were made and letting Jamaica back into the game after a good start,’ said Guthrie.

The sides meet again at 7.45 pm tomorrow night at the Belle Vue in Manchester, with the game due to be shown live on Sky Sports. The series finishes in Coventry on Sunday.
