Squash: Euro medal hope for Island quintet

Having placed fifth out of 12 nations in 2015, the Islanders possess a wealth of experience for their trip to Romania, with former world number 14 Nick Taylor joined by Island champion Scott Gautier and Bath University number one Charlie Griggs. Robert Hickling and player-manager Ian Furness make up the Caesarean quintet.

‘There is normally quite a gap between the top two teams – who have a number of professional players – and the rest of us, but I honestly believe we are the best of the rest,’ said Furness.

The competition includes teams from Italy, Romania, Greece, Gibraltar, Portugal, Malta, Isle of Man, Luxembourg and Belarus.
