Canada World Cup honour for former Island hockey star

Oliver Scholfield, who was born in Canada but moved to Jersey in 1999, has been named in the final squad of 19 that will travel to the tournament, due to take place from 6-15 December.

Since finishing his A-Levels at Victoria College in 2011, the 20-year-old has been studying at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and broke into the national age-group side almost 12 months ago.

Scholfield, who played locally for his school as well as representing the Island men’s side at inter-insular level, says it is an honour to have been selected.
