Skinner originally progressed through yesterday’s heat with fellow Channel Islands surfer Josh Le Marquand, before winning his semi-final ahead of Frenchman Remi Arzou.
Le Marquand did not qualify for the final but will surf his repercharge today hoping to progress to his first senior final, alongside Skinner.
Earlier in the day, Islanders Ben Chapman and Alex Vibert surfed in Open division heats which could have graced most professional competitions in terms of quality.
