The team were greeted by a perfect day and sea conditions – as well as a pod of dolphins – that accompanied them for an hour of the stretch that was completed in the time of eight hours and 25 minutes.

Brad Rose (15), Rhianna Reynolds (15), Alana Powell (14) and Will Allen-Le Bas (14) landed at St Germain beach in Normandy at 3.20 pm local time.

Brad was first in the water followed by Rhianna and Alana then finally William, who had to contend with a forest of jellyfish as they reached the French coast.

All the competitors entered the water at the end to swim to shore along with supervisor Sally Minty-Gravett.

Up next are the Jersey Rookeez, who will take on the feat of a round Island relay swim some time next week.
