Glimmers of hope after dour day in Dublin

Ian Partridge, Darren Clarke, Kevin Le Lomg and Didier Le Falher, who lifted the fours title last year, have yet to roll a bowl in anger in defence of their title – having been fast-tracked through to the semi finals, they were due to make their first appearance this morning.

There was good news, too, for Jersey’s representatives in the senior fours, with Norman Quérée, Maurice Andrieux, Robert Le Sueur and Tim Mallet chalking up a fantastic 20-19 semi fiinal victory over Wales, setting up a final clash with the Scottish champions.
