World Bowls coup for Jersey

Sport | Published:

JERSEY is to host the World Indoor Bowls' Council's singles and mixed pairs championships for the first time in April.

The WIBC's championships are coming for the Island for the first time, the under-25s have been played here previously, and they will take place at the Indoor Bowling Stadium between 16 and 19 April.

Grainville stadium manager Helen Bowyer said: 'The singles and mixed pairs championships are a first for the Island and we are delighted.

'Hosting the tournament can do nothing but good because as well as it being excellent for bowls it will help tourism both in the short term and in the future.'
