Sights set on glory

The 300-yard discipline final, for one of the most prestigious trophies at Bisley – a piece of solid silver some five-and-a-half feet high – will also feature Guernsey’s Nick Mace and Australian James Corbett, the latter a multiple Australian champion and former Commonwealth Games silver medallist.

The trio and two other marksmen all recorded perfect scores while Jersey’s Andrew Le Cheminant missed out on the tie-shoot by the narrowest of margins, just one central bull.

Three other Jersey shooters also scored 50s, Nick Atkins, Mary Norman and Mick Cotillard.
