The 25-year-old recorded an impressive finish in the 104 mile race which is a National A category event – the highest UK level road race classification.

Some of the UK’s top professional and amateur riders were taking part. The starting line-up included Team UK Youth team-mate Magnus Backstedt, former Tour de France stage and Paris Roubaix winner, and Yanto Barker, a former national champion and Tour of Britain professional.

Also competing were the likes of Dan Lloyd, a Grand Tour rider from last year’s Cervelo ProTour Team, and a strong Endura Racing team including top European talent and last year’s winner Zak Dempster.
