Heartbreak on last end

The high-flying quartet of Jamie Macdonald, John Lowery, Lee Nixon and Thomas Greechan came down to earth in the fours final and admitted that their Scottish opponents had deserved to win the title.

But Gaynor Thomas and Alison Camacho, who had done so well to reach the final of the women’s pairs, were cruelly denied what would have been a remarkable win over a crack England duo.

Sarah Seymour, from the City of Ely club, is a former winner of the English and WIBC world indoor singles titles, while her skip Ellen Falkner, won the Commonwealth Games pairs gold medal in New Delhi.
