But he has taken the opportunity that an in-form team does afford him, to give another Jersey youngster a taste of the third level of English rugby.

Teenage lock-forward Tim Corson, the scorer of two tries in a recent match against Barking 2nds, gets a call to the bench for tomorrow’s first-ever competitive encounter against Tynedale.

Extremely strong, fit and direct, Hampshire Youth Cup winner Corson can cover the second-row slots which, after lock Nathan Hannay was suspended by the club earlier in the week, are occupied by in the in-form Jim Brownrigg and Kingsley Lang.

The only only other change is a rotation in Jersey’s extremely strong back row, with No 8 Nick Trower given a start, with flanker Steve O’Brien taking a slot on the bench.
