Mauger and navigator Brian Cammack in their Escort MkII were worthy winners for the third time having treated the crowd to a thrilling display of driving.
As in 2010 the crowds witnessed an epic battle for the top spot which was only really resolved late on Saturday morning when the Jersey crew of Steve Leonard and Sion Humphries were forced to retire with gearbox problems.
Said a delighted Mauger: ‘Once again this proved to be a tough event and one which required 100 per cent concentration at all times. Every year I forget how tight and narrow the Jersey lanes are! You have to drive a very tidy event if you are to stand a chance of getting to the end.’
