A GRANDFATHER who is always there for his families, despite his own difficulties, is nominated for Grandparent of the Year.
Bruce Holcroft, who has been a well-known local musician for many years, is nominated by his granddaugher, Tilly Holcroft, who said he is their family’s “rock”.
“My papa is always there for my mum and I,” Ms Holcroft explained. “My dad left when I was a baby and my papa has consistently been there in every way for us despite having other difficulties in his life.”
She added that he “constantly has a smile on his face and sees the positive in every situation,” always being the one who keeps his family “sane” in the face of difficult circumstances.
Through his music, Mr Holcroft “touched many people’s lives,” but he has taken a step back as he gets older.
Ms Holcroft said that he is always giving “without ever wanting to receive anything bck, so not it’s time to thank him for stepping up to being the best papa but also a father figure.”
