A DRONE photographer and weather enthusiast has been nominated for dedicating his time to providing Islanders with detailed forecasts, weather updates and practical advice through social media.
Alex Clifford has “quietly” become one of Jersey’s most trusted sources of weather advice while asking for nothing in return, according to his nominator Melissa Crowther.
What began as a passion has grown into a valuable community service, she said. This was particularly evident during Storm Ciarán, when Mr Clifford used his platform to help keep Islanders safe and informed amid challenging conditions.
His nominator explained that he also regularly helps people navigate cancellations and rearrange their travel plans when severe weather disrupts journeys.
Ms Crowther said: “Jersey is a community made stronger by people who give their time simply to help others, and Alex embodies exactly this by creating a trusted, accessible source of information that Islanders can turn to.”
