Nominated by: Lizzie Keogh
A VOCATIONAL educator has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year award for her work in “nurturing and developing trainee hair stylists from the very beginning”.
Her nominator, Lizzie Keogh, praised Victoria Quérée’s “innate ability to know when to encourage independence and step back, allowing her students to find their own way, but offering gentle guidance when needed”.
Ms Quérée is the founder of NEON salon and school, where she has created a “calm atmosphere” where students are able to work, train and learn. “Vicky is a passionate advocate for hairdressing as a rewarding career and is constantly advocating for people to consider opportunities outside of the more traditional career paths,” said Miss Keogh.
The school has twice been shortlisted for Best Training Provider at the British Hairdressing Awards. Miss Keogh added that Ms Quérée also arranged for her staff to complete suicide-prevention training with the Danny Cram Foundation, where they can learn “valuable skills to support both clients and students”.
