THE principal of Etoile Studios and co-owner of Performers Jersey has been nominated for Teacher of the Year for “pouring her entire heart into the performing-arts community, inspiring hundreds of young Islanders to find their confidence and shine”.
Rebecca Giulietta has been praised for not just teaching dance, but for building a safe, inclusive environment for her pupils, which has recently been demonstrated by opening a new, dedicated home for Etoile Studios, said her nominator, Taylor Chateau.
When one of her dance teachers lost family members in the devastating earthquake in Venezuela in June, Ms Giulietta immediately started a fundraising campaign to support the family.
“To witness her balance the immense pressure of opening a new studio, co-running an entertainment company, supporting fundraising efforts and raising her family, – all while walking into class every day with boundless energy – is awe-inspiring,” Ms Chateau said.
Described as a mentor, a community builder and a true role model for working mums, Ms Giulietta’s “love and energy” is a true source of admiration, said her nominator.
