AN Islander who shows “extraordinary dedication” to supporting children with special educational needs has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year award.
Molly Galloway, who teaches at Mont à l’Abbé school, has been nominated for the award by Tracey Carver, who said that Mrs Galloway “goes above and beyond” everyday to ensure every child she teaches has the “opportunity to be heard”.
Ms Carver explained that Mrs Galloway puts the wellbeing and development of her students at “the heart of everything she does”, finding new ways for them to communicate and thrive.
Her nominator explained: “What makes Molly so special is that she never sees a child for what they cannot do. She sees their potential and works tirelessly to find ways to unlock it. Her patience, creativity, compassion and determination have made a profound difference to the children in her care and to their families.”
She added: “Molly Galloway is a truly deserving candidate for Teacher of The Year.”
