Nominated by: The boys and parents at VCP
A VICTORIA College Prep teacher has been nominated for Teacher of the Year for being “a mentor, a role model, and a source of inspiration” for the boys.
Leon Pierre is a student at Newcastle University, undertaking a placement year at VCP as part of his studies within the PE department. His nominator praised him for his “passion, purpose, and genuine commitment to helping every boy become the best version of himself, both on and off the pitch”.
He gives his own time freely, by running alongside the boys at Saturday Parkrun, and supporting them at cricket and football matches after school and throughout the weekend.
Mr Pierre also joined the Year 6 boys on their trip to Bude, in Cornwall, where he helped the students “face fears, push boundaries, and celebrate new achievements”.
Nine-year-old Hugo Watson, who recently completed his 100th parkrun with Mr Pierre, said: “Mr Pierre is a real role model to me and has given me so much confidence.”
