HELEN Liron has been nominated for Teacher of the Year, for her “outstanding” work after covering as a supply teacher at St Mary’s School.
Despite only being there for a year, the impact Mrs Liron made was immense, according to her nominator Beth Rosser – who credited the teacher for the “tangible evidence” and progression in her son’s reading.
Ms Rosser’s son recently joined St Mary’s, with Mrs Liron providing structured guidance and targeted support, granting him the exact academic stability which was needed during a difficult transition, said the nominator.
“We have finished several books together since he began his time at St Mary’s, something that was not possible before. I credit Mrs Liron with his progression,” Ms Rosser said, adding that Mrs Liron’s patience, kindness and dedication to ensuring students fit into new school, shows “that she genuinely cares”.
