THE deputy head teacher and special educational needs co-ordinator at Springfield School has been nominated for Teacher of the Year for her “dedication and unwavering commitment positively impacting generations of children and families”.
Nominator Taneesha Spanswick said that Ms Carroll taught her at primary school, and now teaches her daughter.
The nominator praised Ms Carroll for “remembering each child and their unique story and making every pupil feel seen, heard, valued and safe, creating an environment where children can truly thrive”.
Through her SENCo responsibilities, Ms Carroll is “deeply passionate” in ensuring every child receives the support they need whilst working “tirelessly” alongside parents, to advocate for her pupils, said Ms Spanswick.
“Watching the same teacher who inspired and supported me now have the same positive influence on my daughter is incredibly special,” she said.
Ms Carroll is described as “an inspiration” to all pupils, parents and colleagues alike, with her “compassion extending far beyond the walls of the classroom”.
