TWIN sisters who have inspired Islanders of all ages through their energetic and inclusive fitness classes have been jointly nominated for the Teacher of the Year award.
Nominator Delia Hardiman explained that Jayne Renouf and Julie Pinel had a passion for teaching and a unique ability to keep people engaged and motivated while creating a fun and supportive atmosphere.
Ms Hardiman said the pair – who are both former professional dancers – made everyone feel welcome regardless of their age or fitness level, empowering participants to achieve their goals in a safe and enjoyable environment.
She added that Ms Renouf and Ms Pinel incorporated fun and laughter into every class, while showing genuine care for the wellbeing of their students.
Beyond their teaching, they also volunteer their time to support the community, including leading the warm-up for the annual Race for Life.
Describing the sisters as “inspirational”, Ms Hardiman said their close bond and excellent communication skills made them outstanding teachers.
She added that everyone left their classes “with a smile on their face”, making Ms Renouf and Ms Pinel deserving nominees for the Teacher of the Year award.
