Nominated by: Asi Vorria
A MONT à L’Abbé School teacher has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year Award.
Alison Alexandre was described as an “outstanding educator” by her nominator, Asi Vorria, whose son has special needs and was taught by Mrs Alexandre.
Miss Vorria said Mrs Alexandre’s impact on her son’s life “has been truly transformative”. She added that educating children with special educational needs requires immense patience, deep empathy and creative adaptation – qualities she said Mrs Alexandre possesses “in abundance”.
“Thanks to Mrs Alexandre’s tireless dedication, tailored support and constant encouragement, my son has made incredible progress not just academically, but also in his confidence and social skills,” said her nominator.
Miss Vorria noted that Mrs Alexandre looks past her students’ diagnoses and only sees their true potential.
The primary school teacher works hand-in-hand to support families of children with neurodiverse needs, physical disabilities and many other conditions to ensure they can all thrive, the mother added.
