Kerrie Hudson has been nominated for Teacher of the Year for her unwavering commitment to ensuring everyone feels seen, safe and supported at her dance school – Essential Dance.
Her nominator, Michelle Laird, said: “Kerrie embodies what it means to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families.”
Kerrie has enabled her students to express themselves through music where they might not otherwise have had the chance, Ms Laird added.
Beyond her dance teaching, Kerrie has generously given financial help to support her students and their families with fees, making dance accessible to everyone.
Kerrie has also organised many trips away, which have been vital in developing children’s confidence and given them unforgettable memories.
