Washington visit spreads the word

News | Published:

JERSEY'S contribution to the international fight against financial crime was outlined to key US agencies when the Island's Attorney General and the head of the financial regulator visited Washington last month.

Tim Le Cocq and Jersey Financial Services Commission director general John Harris had meetings with a number of leading US and world agencies to carry the message of how the Island engages with the international community.

The pair jointly visited the US Department of Justice, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the World Bank and FINCEN, the US financial intelligence and analysis department.

Mr Le Cocq paid two visits to the US Department of Justice, one of which he attended on his own while Mr Harris saw counterpart regulatory agencies, an exercise he tries to carry out every couple of years.
