The Magistrate’s Court

A MAN has been accused of bruising a doorman’s little finger with a snapped pool cue at a St Helier bar last week.

Paul Keith Clarke (42) pleaded not guilty to grave and criminal assault, possessing an offensive weapon and affray – using or threatening unlawful violence – in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Legal Adviser Harrison Gollop, prosecuting, said the incident occurred at the Tiki Hut on Friday 23 October, when Clarke allegedly assaulted a doorman with a snapped pool cue.

Advocate James Corbett was defending, and Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu was presiding.

Bail was refused and Clarke was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear in the Royal Court on 8 January.
