VISIT Jersey has been awarded an extra £500,000 to promote the Island next year.
The top-up grant, approved by Economic Development Minister Gerald Voisin, will allow the tourism organisation to secure advertising space and marketing campaigns before the end of this year.
A report accompanying the decision said the hospitality sector had enjoyed an improved season in 2026 compared with 2025, but continued growth was vital to help stabilise businesses facing rising costs and relatively low visitor numbers.
Additional air capacity has been secured for 2027, and Visit Jersey will “work at pace to fill these seats” and generate more overnight stays for the hospitality sector.
The report describes the funding as “pump-priming” the organisation’s marketing efforts for next year. Pump-priming is an economic policy where a government injects money into a stagnant economy in a bid to stimulate private-sector activity and spark self-sustaining growth.
The payment will be funded from the Department for the Economy’s 2026 underspends and supports the government’s aim of increasing overnight leisure visits and total visitor spending.
