JERSEY Opera House is due to launch a major recruitment campaign tomorrow as part of efforts to “realise its full potential”.
The announcement follows the news earlier this year that police chief Robin Smith has been appointed to chair the theatre’s board, after a period of uncertainty which saw several senior departures in 2025.
This included former interim chair and long-serving board member Cyril Whelan, who stepped away in June last year – around two months after the resignations of previous interim chair Dave Chalk and interim director Andy Eagle.
Announcing its new campaign, the organisation stated that it would be recruiting across a range of “senior, officer and casual positions”.
Jersey Opera House chief executive Sebastian Warrack said: “Since reopening, our focus has been not simply on bringing this extraordinary building back to life, but on building an organisation that can realise its full potential for Jersey.”
He continued: “This next phase is about investing in the people who will help us do that.
“We are strengthening our team across a number of important areas, bringing in additional skills, ideas and capacity while continuing to develop the talented team already working here.”
Mr Warrack added that there was “a real sense of ambition for what Jersey Opera House can become”.
“We want to create outstanding experiences for our audiences, provide opportunities for creativity and participation, and ensure the Opera House has the resilience and expertise to thrive for generations to come.”
