A PLANNING application for 26 new homes in Trinity, which was initially rejected, has been granted following an appeal.
Planning Minister Sir Mark Boleat gave to go ahead to the scheme at La Ruette, La Rue du Moulin du Ponterrin in Victoria Village.
The planning application for this development was originally refused by the former Planning Committee in April. However, this decision was challenged by the applicant, Castletree Eco Village Limited and the case was reviewed by independent planning inspector Fortune Gumbo.
Senator Boleat agreed with the planning inspector’s and granted the appeal, paving the way for the project to begin.
The proposed development is for the partial demolition of the existing property, along with redevelopment of the entire site to provide 26 new homes with car parking and gardens.
The application includes road widening measures and moving the existing vehicle access on La Rue du Moulin de Ponterrin. The scheme would also see the creation of a new pedestrian access and public footpath, and various site landscape works to include shared open spaces and new children’s play space. The grade 4 listed bakehouse at the site is to be retained.
