A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Grands Vaux yesterday morning.
Police have this morning issued a witness appeal following the collision, which happened between 10am and 10.20am on Monday at the junction with Stafford Lane, between Morrisons Daily and the entrance to Wilkes Gardens.
The vehicle, described as a black BMW, is believed to have been travelling along Grands Vaux towards the junction with Stafford Lane.
Police said it was alleged to have collided with the pedestrian at the S-shaped bend in the road.
The pedestrian, who was wearing a green jacket and blue trousers, is believed to have been walking along the pavement in the same direction as the vehicle when the collision happened.
Emergency services attended the scene yesterday morning, with police asking motorists to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, saw those involved or has any other information about the incident to come forward.
