ISLANDERS are being urged to take extra care around Jersey’s coastline this evening as strong winds coincide with a high tide.
Jersey Met has issued a yellow tide warning for tonight’s high tide, which is expected at around 8.50pm.
Strong winds are forecast to bring waves and sea spray over sea walls along parts of the Island’s south coast.
Jersey Coastguard warned that minor disruption was possible on coastal roads, promenades and cycle paths, while debris could also be washed into affected areas.
Anyone heading out this evening has been advised to take extra care and remain aware of local conditions.
Boat owners are also being encouraged to check that their vessels and moorings are secure.
The Coastguard reminded Islanders that in an emergency at sea they should call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
