LADIES Day racing at Jersey Race Club will go ahead today after the course at Les Landes passed an inspection prompted by the recent dry weather.
Race Club officials said on Thursday that the course was “under close scrutiny” as a result of “extraordinary” weather in recent weeks, with the Island moving into official drought after a series of heatwaves.
Regular monitoring of conditions had taken place, it was confirmed, and after a final inspection yesterday afternoon the Race Club announced that the Ladies Day meeting would proceed as scheduled today, with the course opening at 12pm and the first race at 2.30pm.
