A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been ordered to complete 70 hours of community service after admitting drink-driving.
Elwood Scott appeared before Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke in the Magistrate’s Court.
St Lawrence Centenier Alexandra Winston, prosecuting, said that police found a white moped on its side after being called to a disturbance in June.
Scott was slurring his words and admitted drinking before riding the moped. He later described his actions to police officers as “stupid”.
Advocate Greg Herold-Howes, defending, said Scott was remorseful and had co-operated with police.
Assistant Magistrate Clarke said Scott had made “a bad decision” but noted his “good work record” and lack of previous convictions.
Scott was given 70 hours of community service.
