A 20-YEAR-OLD woman has been ordered to complete 70 hours of community service after admitting possession of 5.5 MDMA tablets.

Arianna Saraiva appeared before Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke in the Magistrate’s Court recently.

Centenier Paul Davies, prosecuting, said Customs officers recovered 5.5 yellow tablets containing MDMA from a St Helier address.

The offence took place in October last year, but the case was delayed because of issues involving the States analyst.

Saraiva had no previous convictions and said in a letter that she understood the impact drugs had on the Island.

She was ordered to complete 70 hours of community service.
