WATER balloons might be fun on a hot day, but they are creating a problem at Jersey’s Splashpad.
Active Jersey is asking families not to bring them, or to make sure every piece is picked up after they burst.
The team that looks after the Splashpad at Coronation Park says broken balloon pieces can be dangerous for young children because they could be swallowed.
They can also damage the attraction’s filtration system, which keeps the water clean.
Active Jersey said it is delighted to see so many people enjoying the Splashpad in the warm weather and thanked visitors for helping to keep it safe and clean.
The team said the problem is not being caused on purpose and asked everyone to do their bit.
Visitors are also reminded to throw rubbish in the bins or take it home, keep food and animals out of the water area, and make sure children wear suitable swimwear.
The Splashpad is open every day during the summer from 10am to 6pm.
All children must be supervised by an adult while they play.
