ISLANDERS are being targeted by a new scam involving fraudsters posing as parking control officers.
The scam is being circulated via text messages claiming to be from a company called “ParkingEye”.
The messages tell recipients that an outstanding parking fee has been identified under their vehicle’s parking record.
The message then advises them to follow a provided link and enter their vehicle registration number before “promptly” paying the fine.
Jersey’s Department for Infrastructure and Environment department has urged Islanders not to press the link, but instead to report the message as a scam and then delete it from their device.
They added that the Government of Jersey does not issue parking fines through any digital channel.
