A FISHERMAN has pleaded guilty to assaulting a man with a walking frame and resisting arrest.

Ian Stuart Richomme (32) appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where he admitted common assault and resisting arrest following an incident earlier this month.

St Helier Centenier Sharon Rive, prosecuting, said an off-duty police officer saw the victim being lifted from a bench in a children’s playground and “thrown” towards his walking frame.

Advocate Stephen Wauchope, defending, said Richomme accepted picking the man up from the bench but maintained that the victim then fell onto the frame.

Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu described the case as “serious” and noted that the offences were committed in breach of a court order.

Richomme was released on bail and ordered to return to court in September for sentencing.
