PLANS for development at St Aubin’s Yacht Club will not require a full Environmental Impact Assessment after the Environment Minister approved a waiver.

Developments on land covered by seawater at high tide would ordinarily require an assessment under planning law.

However, the minister concluded that, because of the proposal’s “small scale, size and nature”, it was unlikely to have a significant environmental impact and agreed to waive the requirement.

The decision followed advice from Planning officers and applies specifically to the yacht club proposal.
