JERSEY Airport’s new managing director has apologised after security delays caused some passengers to miss their flights this morning.

Dale Reeson said the disruption was caused by unexpected staff illness, which temporarily slowed processing through the security screening area.

He said affected passengers had been assisted with alternative travel arrangements and announced an immediate review into the incident.

“We know how important travel plans are, and completely understand how frustrating and stressful it is when things don’t go to plan,” he said, adding that lessons would be learned to help prevent a repeat.
