LESS than 30% of Islanders aged 75 and over had received this year’s spring Covid-19 booster by the end of June, according to a new Public Health report.
The latest vaccination update shows that 3,310 spring booster doses had been administered by 30 June, with uptake highest among care home residents.
Around 28% of adults aged 75 and over received the vaccine, while uptake reached approximately 67% among residents of older adult care homes.
Among immunosuppressed people aged between six months and 74 years, around one in five (20%) received the booster.
The spring booster programme began on 13 April and was offered to adults aged 75 and over, residents of older adult care homes, and people aged between six months and 74 years with weakened immune systems.
Vaccinations were delivered through GP appointments and visits to residential care homes.
The report states that uptake has remained “relatively consistent” over the past three spring booster campaigns.
Care home residents have consistently recorded the highest uptake, ranging between 64% and 70% since 2024.
Uptake among those aged 75 and over has varied between 27% and 33%, while uptake among immunosuppressed people has ranged from 14% to 20%.
Public Health Jersey found no substantial difference in uptake between men and women across the eligible age groups.
