THE Coastguard has called off an extensive search of the east of the Island after an inflatable paddleboard was washed up at Archirondel – with two ten-year-old boys seen on it just 15 minutes before it was found.
Multiple agencies were involved in the search, which was led by the Coastguard. No missing children were reported.
The police said that the working theory is that the board was left unattended on the beach and was blown into the sea by this afternoon’s Force 4 – 5 gusting winds.
Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to ring the Coastguard on 447705 or the police on 612612 (option 2, option 4).
