ISLANDERS who are with mobile service provider JT are continuing to experience issues loading photos and videos on social media.

Many customers took to Facebook and Instagram on Friday to complain were struggling to access content on each app – both of which are owned by American company Meta, which also owns popular messaging app WhatsApp.

JT acknowledged the issue in a “service announcement” on Friday, which explained that “some customers may currently find that images, GIFs, and videos in certain Meta apps are loading slowly or not displaying”.

In an update on Monday, the telecoms company confirmed that the issue was ongoing, adding that JT’s teams were “working directly with Meta to resolve the issue” and that they would “provide an update as soon as more information is available”.

On Wednesday, JT said that its engineers were “continuing to work closely with Meta to investigate the intermittent issue” and that the American firm was “fully engaged” in identifying and fixing the problem.

It added: “We understand how frustrating this is. We’ll share further updates as soon as more information becomes available.”

As of yesterday, customers were still experiencing issues. JT has declined to respond to questions from the JEP.
