ONE of Strictly Come Dancing’s most famous faces will be visiting the Island alongside her professional dancer husband later this month for a two-day dance event at the Town Hall.
Two-time Glitterball Trophy winner Oti Mabuse and her husband Marius Iepure are set to lead dance workshops on on 25 and 26 July.
The sessions are open to everyone – from complete beginners to seasoned dancers.

The event is being organised by Step by Step Dance School founder Dragos Patrascu, who said bringing the duo to Jersey had taken “four years of planning”.
“Marius and I go way back,” Mr Patrascu said. “We were teammates on the Romanian National Team, competing together in national and international competitions.
“To now bring Oti and Marius to Jersey, where I founded my own dance school, feels like a full-circle moment. This has been a dream of mine for years, and I can’t wait to see our local dance community light up the Town Hall. Whether you’re taking your very first steps or you’re an experienced dancer, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity right on our doorstep.”
The workshops are designed to provide a rare opportunity for the Island’s dancers to learn from world-class professionals without having to travel to the UK, while each workshop will include a “photo opportunity” to remember the day by.
There will also be an evening dinner, aimed at those with ballroom and Latin dancing experience where dancers will have the opportunity to network and socialise, as well as a Q&A session with Oti and Marius where guests can ask about life as a professional dancer and working on Strictly Come Dancing. There will be no dance performance due to Oti’s pregnancy.
Those wishing to attend are strongly recommended to book early, with spaces filling up fast. Anyone wishing to book for a workshop, the evening dinner, or who wish to find out more, can do so by emailing danceinjersey@hotmail.com.
