AN Ironman-style fundraising event celebrating the RNLI Jersey lifeguard service’s 15-year anniversary will be taking place at St Ouen’s Bay later this month.
The Apex Lifeguard Challenge will see participants take on a 400m sea swim, a 1.5k run and an 800m rescue board paddle at the Watersplash on 25 July.
Teams from the Fire and Rescue Service, Coastguard and Ambulance Service are among those due to take part in the event, which is open to all and free to enter.
Lifeguard supervisor Aaron White said: “Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, passionate surfer or a first-time challenger, come be part of this fun, free, open event, and help us raise vital funds for our RNLI lifeguards.”
He noted that there will be both team and individual races, adding that: “Everyone is welcome to take part or support – come give it a go and make a difference.”
Those interested can register via RNLI Jersey Apex Lifeguard Challenge 2026 page on the eventbrite website.
