A PHOTOGRAPHY exhibition featuring Islanders living with dementia is now available to view online after being displayed in St Helier.

Reframing Dementia, created by Dementia Jersey, features portraits of nine Islanders living with dementia alongside their families.

The project aims to challenge perceptions of dementia by highlighting the people behind the diagnosis.

The exhibition was photographed by five Channel Island photographers, including Oliver Doran and Paul Chambers.

The portraits capture everyday moments shared with family members, from spending time with children and grandchildren to enjoying walks with dogs.

Created in partnership with ArtHouse Jersey, the exhibition encourages people to look beyond a dementia diagnosis and instead recognise the passions, contributions and ongoing stories of the Islanders featured in the portraits.

The exhibition was on display at Capital House in St Helier, from 15 May to 7 June.

The full photographic collection has now been made available on the Dementia Jersey website, allowing those who missed the exhibition – or who wish to revisit it – to explore the portraits and learn more about the people behind them.
