AFTER recording with leading musicians in London, a Jersey jazz singer is bringing her latest project home for a special launch concert.
Carrie Hamilton will launch her new EP, Dreaming in Blue, with a live performance at The Sundown on Thursday 9 July.
The five-track record features a collection of jazz pieces arranged and performed by Ms Hamilton alongside an original composition.
Produced at Gorilla Studios in London, the EP contains a range of styles, including swing, blues, ballads and bossa nova.

The launch concert will include music from the new EP alongside a selection of her jazz favourites and original songs, and Ms Hamilton will be supported by a band of local musicians.
“We are so fortunate to have so many extremely talented musicians in Jersey,” Ms Hamilton said. “I’m really lucky to be able to share the stage with some of Jersey’s hottest players.”
Originally trained as a classical musician, Ms Hamilton built a career as a jazz vocalist, flautist, songwriter and music educator.
She has performed throughout the UK, Jersey, France and the Caribbean, and has supported artists including Claire Martin OBE, Clare Teal and Cleo Laine with the BBC Big Band at Jazz on the Green.
She has also appeared at Bar Fitzgerald at the Hotel Belle Rive in Cap d’Antibes and the Beaufort Bar at London’s Savoy Hotel.
